about

More wildlife songs... this time with an eggy theme. Inspired by the onset of spring and the symbolic egg associated with this time of year, we’ve written some songs about animals that lay eggs! ‘Best of Different Friends’ celebrates the differences between us, well the world would be boring if we were all the same! Jump around to ‘Frog Jump’... shake along to ‘Snake Shake’ and roar to ‘Dinosaur’! Are you scared of spiders? Lots of people are... this is what our song ‘Web of Irrational fear’ is all about!

Track Name: Best of Different Friends
What lays an egg? Could be a chicken or a reptile
They both lay eggs... that’s where the likeness ends
But when they get together they’re the best of different friends!

What lays an egg? Could be a chicken or a reptile

Chickens have feathers, reptiles lie in the sun
But when they get together they both know how to have fun!

What lays an egg? Could be a chicken or a reptile

Some chickens eat bugs, some reptiles eat them too
Now’s the time for celebrating the differences between me and you!

Because the world would be boring if we were all the same!

I don’t lay an egg, you don’t lay an egg, we don’t lay eggs but chickens lay eggs!
I don’t lay an egg, you don’t lay an egg, we don’t lay eggs but reptiles lay eggs!
Track Name: Frog Jump!
Frog Jump!

Little frog sitting on a lily pad
Thinking of all the great times he’s had
Rolling around in the morning dew
But he’s got one favourite thing to do...Frog jump!

Can you hear his distinctive sound?
I love it when, in my garden, a little frog I have found!
Nothing makes me more happy!
I sit, I watch, I wait...hoping I might see...Frog jump!

Little frog sitting in my garden pond
Taking care of his tadpoles, of who he’s really fond
He waits for them to metamorphosize
Soon he’ll have a frog family hopping before his eyes! Frogs jump!
Track Name: Dinosaur
Dinosaur! Dinosaur!
T-Rex roars, Pterodactyl flies
Now their remains are fossilised.

Dinosaur, no longer around
Now their remains are under the ground!

Omnivore, herbivore, carnivore... dinosaur!
Omnivore, herbivore, carnivore... I think I saw a dinosaur!
Track Name: Snake Shake
Slithering across the floor
Hear that rattle snake rattle

My tongue is forked and I lay eggs
I got scaly skin but I ‘aint got legs
I don’t need them ‘cos I slither along
When I get bored I sing this song
I’m a snake.
Track Name: Web of Irrational Fear
Mrs Spider in your web crawling on the ceiling
You fill me with fear and dread but looks can be deceiving.
Mrs Spider in her web, always want to eat,
How we fear the patter of your eight arachnid feet!

Don’t be scared my human friend
You’re far too big for lunch!
I much prefer my meals with wings and six legs I can crunch!
I don’t mean you any harm, I only feast on flies
And if they venture near my web they’re in for a surprise!

I am a friendly household guest
I try to earn my keep
I clear up all the bugs so they don’t bug you while you sleep!
I don’t mean you any harm
She only feast on flies
And if they venture near my web
They’re in for a surprise!
